In this stamp, the design is of an Aboriginal Stockman cutting out a steer, the original printing & release (part 1), 26 July, 1961 (below), was on Cream Wove Paper, but supplies were issued (part 2) on 17 June 1964, on White Paper, the colouring is very different being a brighter Red/Brown.

The stamps design was based on a marble bust of the singer, sculptured by Sir Bertram Mackennal, which stands in the Victorian National Gallery, Melbourne.

This stamp design was based on the "Wharncliffe Hours", a 15th century book of devotions, originally owned by the Earl of Wharncliffe, this devotion now resides in the Victorian National Gallery, Melbourne.
